Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to return to work, school, routines, after being off for awhile? We often pay for our time away and struggle to get our focus back. For some, catching up on phone calls, emails, and conflicts that only you can handle is almost painful enough to avoid taking any time off in the future. In other cases, time away includes visiting with dysfunctional family members and a whole host of toxic interactions. Returning to your routine may be a welcomed event! No matter what the case, we all need time to recharge our batteries and get away from the daily grind. In spite of our tightened budgets, we can creatively orchestrate time away. Figure out what type of activity, environment, and cast of characters will provide you with the most relaxing, joyful, and energizing experience and make it happen. Our bodies and our minds need a break from our stress-filled life. How much “down” time do you need during your holiday? Sometimes our goal is to rejuvenate through activity and other times our goal is to relax through inactivity. Did you achieve your goal?
