Why do we spend hours preparing our Christmas meal and minutes devouring it? It seems that we miss out on the savouring of the food and conversation. Why not decide this year to approach the meal differently and actually use the table for story telling, reminiscing, sharing pictures, playing a game or experiencing the talents of your children. Maybe it’s a time to read a traditional book or describe Christmas ‘s of the past. Have you ever noticed that after dinner everyone scatters? Make this holiday more about connection and less about food consumption. We all have funny stories to share, (even if it’s the same story every year) and holiday nightmares. Be sure to laugh out loud and often. It’s good for you and reduces stress. Be grateful for the people in your life and life itself!
