Christmas is a time to reflect on the year, on our relationships, on our faith, and on the direction of our lives. It is also a time to reflect on the past. What do you remember most about this time of year? The memories we recall are usually related to people rather than things. So why do we focus so much on the gifts? I can recall the conversations around the dinner table and the activities that we looked forward to every holiday. We would play cards and share stories- these are the types of memories that last a lifetime. Some of us reflect on the people that have passed on, but also celebrate the joy of young children. Capture the joy that a child experiences on Christmas morning and keep it throughout the year. Celebrate the joys of the past, cherish the joys of the present, and embrace the joys of the future.
